The Story:
When I was in my 20's, I lost my best friend... my dad.
He died a year after my mom passed away.
I suffered a loss and a traumatic experience so deep, I couldn't remember who I was.
I struggle with my skills I used to help me cope in those hard moments when I re-live that day that I found my dad, and sometimes I can't come out of it without having heavy emotions that resonate with how they were almost 8 years ago.
Not only did I make this sweater to wear, because sometimes I don't want to be so alone in my head, I made it in hopes people could see it and feel a sense of connection, and the ability to be vulnerable the same way I am, without fear of judgements or criticism.
Life is complex.
Relationships with anyone are complex.
When that person dies, we go through layers and layers of complex thoughts and emotions....
and we do that completely alone.
You deserve to feel seen and to be vulnerable.
